A Sneak Peek into the Agenda of the SafeStart Forum in Cincinnati

Interactive presentation at a conference

Have you been looking for an excuse to visit the “Queen City”? Maybe Cincinnati wasn’t on your radar before, but it’s known for its rich history, diverse culture and a wide variety of attractions—AND the SafeStart Forum will be held there this October!

The SafeStart Forum is a highly interactive conference providing a unique opportunity to share best practices in human error and safety management in any industry. The event will be held October 28 and 29, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency in Cincinnati and it promises to deliver an interactive learning experience with a lineup of speakers and content you can’t find anywhere else.

Early bird registration pricing is available for the SafeStart Forum until June 30, 2025. The registration price increases after this date.

Featured Speakers

This year’s SafeStart Forum is headlined by a trio of superstar speakers:

  • Jimmy Yeary, award-winning songwriter, singer and human emotion advocate, will deliver the opening keynote address on day one.
  • SafeStart author/founder Larry Wilson will kick off day two with the opening address.
  • Larry Pearlman, senior SafeStart consultant with over 30 years of experience in safety, culture, leadership and change management, will deliver the closing keynote.

What to Expect

The SafeStart Forum provides a curated learning experience that furthers thought leadership trends and elevates networking opportunities for attendees. As such, the event speakers were selected with human factors principles in mind. Check out the full agenda here.

There will be two days of conference keynotes and over 20 concurrent sessions from subject matter experts in a variety of different categories under the human factors umbrella. There will also be new SafeStart-specific sessions to help clients overcome challenges, sustain their progress and inspire what’s next on their SafeStart journey.

New this year is a set of fireside chat sessions—led by a SafeStart client paired with a SafeStart consultant—designed to get to the heart of the success clients have had using one of SafeStart’s processes. These sessions have a more personal feel, with comfortable chairs in a circular format to duplicate the casualness and intimacy of listening to stories around a campfire. While the speakers will provide the bulk of the information, the idea is that this will turn into a group discussion. There are also two concurrent panel sessions where attendees will get multiple perspectives, helping foster a deeper understanding of the subject matter and providing the opportunity to take part in meaningful dialogue. At the SafeStart Forum, you’re not just an attendee, you’re a participant.

The bookends to the Forum, as mentioned above, are two great keynote sessions, which will also be interactive. We will open the Forum with Jimmy Yeary’s keynote, entitled I Feel, You Feel.  And we will close with Larry Pearlman’s keynote, How the Best of the Best Achieve TRIR of 0.05 or Less!

But the learning doesn’t have to stop there. For only $199, you can add a half-day PDC workshop to your conference package. On October 30, from 8 am until noon, you can take advantage of this exclusive learning opportunity. You get to choose from one of two topics: 3 Dimensions of Safety Leadership for Better Safety Outcomes and Influencing Safety Climate: How Leadership Actions Can Drive Culture. These highly engaging and interactive professional development seminars are the perfect complement to the two days of human factors and safety thought leadership you’ll be enjoying in Cincinnati.

Who Should Attend?

This is the perfect venue for company executives, safety staff, trainers and steering committees. Whether you implemented the SafeStart process long ago, you have just initiated SafeStart Now or SafeLead, or you haven’t implemented a SafeStart process at all but want to gain more insight into human factors in safety, our 2025 Forum is for you. You’ll network, share best practices and discover innovations in human factors from a variety of industry and SafeStart subject matter experts, as well as other members of the SafeStart community.

Early bird prices won’t last long, and why pay more if you don’t have to? Get all of the details about registration, the speakers and more at safestartforum.com.
