This February, North Dakota Safety Council is going to host their 45th Annual Safety & Health Conference. This year’s event is the largest of its kind in the region and it will offer valuable networking opportunities and present some inspiring speakers, with SafeStart’s own Danny Smith being one of them.
Danny will present three sessions at the event:
Session B35—Removing the Limits: Making Your Dreams a Reality—February 22 at 4 p.m.
This session will concentrate on the most common barriers that prevent people from reaching their desired goals, discuss whether some of these are self-imposed, and consider how a deeper understanding of these barriers can be a key to removing them.
Session C10—The Missing Link in Risk Assessment—February 23 at 8 a.m.
In this early morning session on the final day of the conference, Danny will discuss the fact that many EHS professionals lack certain vital tools in their risk assessment toolbelt. By examining the role the “missing link” of human error has in overall risk, we can achieve improvements in the risk assessment process by accounting for these errors as a part of the overall evaluation.
Session C18—The Luck Factor: Mistakes That (Sometimes) Get Us Hurt—February 23 at 9:45 a.m.
While some incidents are the consequence of systems failures, many stem from human error. And although we all make mistakes, fortunately, they don’t always result in injury. But when luck runs out the consequences can be extremely serious, which is why eliminating as many of these unintentional mistakes as possible is so important. This session will discuss how improving personal skills will eliminate the need to rely on luck as the only way to stay safe.
Danny has over 25 years of EHS management experience and speaks in front of many audiences each year. His presenting style is relatable, informative and entertaining, making him a sought-after speaker, so make sure you don’t miss his sessions.
SafeStart is a proud platinum sponsor of the NDSC Conference, which will be host to numerous fascinating speakers, enlightening sessions, and leading-edge exhibitors. We would love to see you there, so come along and say hello to us at booth #412!
