Safety Wins is not only the title of Vector Construction’s safety page on Facebook, but it’s also an apt way to describe it. The page is dedicated to “promoting safety awareness, generating safety suggestions and recognizing employees for safe behavior,” leading to what it calls a “win-win” scenario in which both the company and its employees benefit from better safety awareness.
The page focuses on sharing safety-related photos, videos, news articles and initiatives that take place within Vector’s facilities. It’s a perfect example of using safety content to engage workers on the issues that matter to them.
This is just one of Vector’s many safety success stories. As a SafeStart client they reduced their annual recordable injury rate by 86% and increased their near-miss reporting by 600%.
The company has also won awards for its operations, including recently requalifying as a gold-level organization in Canada’s Best Managed Companies program by Deloitte. Vector has a couple ICRI awards as well, one for excellence and the other for project of the year.
Vector’s safety and health program is at the core of their operating principles and it shows. They are a strong example of what to do when it comes to safety—keep up the safe work, Vector!
