Everyone wants to be good at what they do and when it comes to providing protective coating for a variety of piping, Bredero Shaw is one of the best.
But the folks at the company’s Mexican locations want to go beyond exceling at their jobs —they want to make sure they’re doing everything they can to avoid injuries at work and to keep themselves and their families safe at home and on the road.
So when the company implemented SafeStart at its Monterrey site, their workers were eager to take SafeStart home to their families. As a result, they’ve been able to address human error at home and teach their loved ones how to avoid injuries caused by rushing, frustration, fatigue and complacency.
To support its’ employees tremendous efforts, Bredero Shaw recently hosted a family safety day in Monterrey to celebrate their safety success and to encourage everyone to continue paying attention to human factors everywhere they go. There was a full article about SafeStart and the family safety day in The Pipeline Performance Post, an internal company newsletter that focuses on regional news and puts the spotlight on employees.
The focus on safety at home has paid off in the workplace too. The article in the newsletter notes, “Before the implementation of this program we had 20% workplace incidents and today we have 0% workplace incidents.”
Congratulations to Bredero Shaw’s Monterrey plant for its successful SafeStart implementation. Everyone has shown a lot of energy and excitement for the program and we’re proud to see their accomplishments with safety at work and at home.
