Two Years Injury-free

James Hardie Manufacturing’s Tacoma plant celebrates two years without a recordable injury

James Hardie Manufacturing’s Tacoma plant celebrates two years without a recordable injury.

There is no greater accomplishment than being able to declare a workplace injury free, and recently one of our clients, James Hardie Building Products Inc., was able to do exactly that—again.

The company produces fiber siding at seven plants across the United States, and its Tacoma location just celebrated its second straight year without injuries thanks to the unwavering support of EHS Manager Kevin Johnson and the plant’s entire crew of workers. Fittingly, employees commemorated the event by beginning training on SafeStart’s Extended Application Units. (You can see the employees diligently reviewing their workbooks in the photo above.)

Tom Kurowski, Director of Manufacturing at James Hardie, noted this is all part of the company’s overall mission to keep every single worker safe from injury, saying, “safety is a never ending journey with many milestones along the way, and only through a complete commitment from all involved will we continue down the path towards Zero Harm.”

Congratulations to everyone at James Hardie’s Tacoma plant for reaching this tremendous anniversary and we look forward to hearing about more safety achievements in the future.
