As a successful SafeStart client, Kosmos Energy knows the benefits of advanced safety awareness training—and they’re eager to share it with a community they will soon be calling home. The energy company will introduce SafeStart training at Natin & the Lower Technical School in Suriname where they are building a facility.
Kosmos is providing training for 2,700 high school students this year and a further 600+ next year to incoming grade 9 students. The goal is to help the school establish safety skills as a core part of its culture, with the hope that the school can continue the safety education on its own in the future.
In conjunction with Kosmos Energy’s generous donation of training, Electrolab Training Systems, parent company of SafeStart, will donate consulting services to train local teachers to deliver SafeStart materials in class, and will also provide online materials to support the students’ safety learning.
Kosmos Energy and SafeStart will be documenting the training in a short film as part of the Natin Safety Culture CSR Project kick-off week (November 7-11). This collaborative effort continues a proud tradition of SafeStart clients educating young people on essential safety skills and fits within SafeStart’s emphasis on 24/7 safety.
Way to go, Kosmos Energy! You have truly embodied the spirit of SafeStart with your generous community outreach.
