About the conference
The Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) conference—Today’s Challenge, Tomorrow’s Reward—aims to educate through its skill building workshops and networking opportunities. It’s focused on statewide DBE companies and contractors and, as usual, the event’s organizer—the Illinois Department of Transportation—is expecting to see attendance from subcontractors, DBEs, and prime contractors in construction, trucking, engineering, professional consulting, and design.
The workshops provided cover topics including, but not limited to, estimating and bidding, erosion control, social media marketing, and advanced financing. The event hopes to help its attendees increase their competitiveness and opportunities for work on federally-funded highway contracts.
