About the conference
The Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) conference, Today’s Challenge, Tomorrow’s Reward aims to educate through its skill building workshops and networking opportunities. It’s focused on statewide DBE firms and contractors and, as usual, the event’s organizer—the Illinois Department of Transportation—is expecting to see attendance from subcontractors, DBEs, and primes in construction, trucking, engineering, professional consulting, and design.
The workshops provided cover topics including, but not limited to, estimating and bidding, deletion of quantities, erosion control, and advanced financing. The event hopes to help its attendees increase their competitiveness and opportunities for work on federally-funded highway contracts.
